Cox Fire Protection was honored to host Governor Rick Scott’s first stop on his 2018 Florida circuit to discuss his new tax plan. The governor has consistently been a friend to small business and construction specifically. He has directly impacted our industry on many levels, from leading the fight for deregulation – to tax cuts – to strong support for apprenticeship. On behalf of ABC Gulf Coast Chapter, and Cox Fire Protection, thank you for all your efforts on our behalf, Governor!
Cox Fire is proud to welcome Devin Smith to our Tampa Sales Team! Devin is a seasoned fire sprinkler man, getting his start in the business in Indianapolis with Koorsen Fire & Security. Devin has experience in the field, in alarm and sprinkler inspections, and in sprinkler and alarm service. His diverse background and desire to learn all aspects of fire protection opened doors for him to move into a sales position, and he brings years of experience to the Inspection Sales Department at Cox Fire.
When Devin is not at work he can likely be found with family and friend at Lightning games, on the golf course, or at the beach, always accompanied by his 3-month-old puppy Indy!
Devin is passionate about fire protection in knowing that not only is he providing protection for his customers’ properties, but also their businesses and employees.

Cox Fire is very happy to welcome Margot McDaniels to our Jacksonville branch, and Margot states that she is excited about joining the Cox Fire family! She has accepted the position of Service and Inspections salesperson in the Jacksonville office. Margot states “I am married to my best friend and I have 2 beautiful children. In my spare time I spend time with my family, ride bikes, read and I like going out on the boat and riding 4 wheelers.” Cox Fire welcomes Margot McDaniels!

The National Fire Sprinkler Association praised sponsors and co-sponsors for their consistent leadership over the years that ensured fire sprinklers were included in the tax reform legislation passed by the House and Senate.
The Fire Sprinkler Incentive Act has been pushed for years. Fire protection has now been included and overall fire and life safety systems have joined other tax incentives, such as roofing, HVAC and security alarm systems.
“This accomplishment for fire and life safety has been 14 years in the making. To say we are excited is an understatement,” explained Shane Ray, NFSA president. “Our NFSA team goal was to support Congressman Jim Langevin and all Congressional leaders over the years who sponsored and co-sponsored the bi-partisan legislation that was first filed following the tragic Station Nightclub fire in Rhode Island that claimed 100 lives in early 2003.”
